Born in October 1959 in Western Province of Kenya, Bramwel Waliaula Kisuya took office as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kenya to the Kingdom of Spain on 17th May 2011. Prior to this appointment by His Excellency the President, Amb. Kisuya served as a Commissioner with the Poverty Eradication Commission of Kenya from January 2005 to April 2010. Previously, he provided consultancy services to a wide range of development agencies in Kenya, Ethiopia and Lesotho and for this reason widely travelled to countries including Austria, Belgium, Jamaica, China, Italy, Sweden, Tanzania and Uganda.

Earlier from 1993 he worked for six years as an Education and Training officer at the Kenya Union of Savings and Credit Cooperatives Ltd (KUSCCO) and as a Lecturer at the now Cooperative University College of Kenya for 4 years.

Amb. Kisuya holds an MA degree in Rural Economics and Extension Education from the Gandhi Gram University in India (1988) and a BA degree in Community Development, Economics and Cooperation from Agra University also in India (1986). In addition, he has attended several short training programmes in the course of his work as an economist and diplomat.

Amb. Kisuya has on consultancy basis worked as an enterprise development economist and trainer with special skills in providing start up and stabilization advisory services to emerging enterprises. He has proven expertise in Participatory Appraisal Methodologies and Organizational Capacity Assessment using tools that involve beneficiaries to share, enhance and analyze their knowledge of life and conditions and to plan, act, monitor and evaluate projects. He has substantive experience in institutional systems analysis, institutional development strategy, design and analysis of planned or existing community based organizations; special reference to grassroots and elite co-operative institutions, women’s groups and similar self-help organizations. He has extensive experience in the promotion, development and management of different types of Primary, Middle level and Apex Cooperatives.
