H.E Ambassador Richard Opembe, presented his credentials as the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kenya to the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) to the Secretary General, Mr. Zurab Pololikashvili in his office on 9th October 2020.

During the presentation Ambassador Opembe welcomed the opportunity to strengthen the longstanding relationship of mutual support between Kenya and the UNWTO in the promotion of tourism, particularly in light of the global Coronavirus pandemic.

Following the presentation, Ambassador Opembe and Secretary General of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Mr. Zurab Pololikashvili held a brief meeting, the two agreed on the need for the UNWTO to be at the forefront in supporting recovery of the Tourism sector as the world continues to deal with the global public health crisis. Kenya’s tourism recovery was also discussed.
